Rooted in Story: The Carya Collection by Zeep Naturals

In Greek mythology, Carya—daughter of Dion and Amphithea—was a gracious host to the gods. As a reward, Apollo gifted her the power of prophecy, with one condition: never betray the gods or seek forbidden knowledge. But when Dionysos fell in love with Karya and her sisters tried to stop their union, they broke this divine rule. Dionysos drove the sisters mad, turning them to stone, and in an act of devotion, transformed Karya into a walnut tree—a symbol of beauty, resilience, and eternal presence.

At Zeep Naturals, we’ve channeled this mythology into our Carya Collection—a line of hand-carved walnut wood pieces, each made from a single solid log, with separately mounted pedestals or legs. No two pieces are alike. Their sculptural presence, rich grain, and earthy elegance invite both visual and tactile connection.

Zeep Naturals | Carya Collection Walnut Pedestal Bowl | Zeep Naturals brings you handcrafted soaps, organic cotton towels, and artisan kitchen essentials — all inspired by nature. Discover simple, sustainable living with products designed to soothe your senses and your home.

Walnut wood was chosen not just for symbolism, but for substance:

  • Incredible durability and strength — built to last

  • Naturally antibacterial — perfect for serving and everyday use

  • Rich, dark grain patterns — timeless luxury

  • Softens and deepens in tone over time — aging beautifully

  • Malleable for carving and sanding — allows for organic, fluid forms

Each item is sanded to a silk-like finish and treated with natural oils to protect the wood while highlighting its depth and movement.

From ancient stories to modern living, Carya is a tribute to rooted design and timeless craft.
